What is a Creative Technology Developer?

The role is about discovery, creation, and self-sufficiency. It's about learning through trying, building quickly, and refining well.

The role is hard to define, and I recognize that I'm biased in thinking that it's a cool and challenging job to do. It feels like a "startup within the startup"-type role. If nobody knows the answer, I want to figure it out.

In my role, I have needed to (lately):

• Modify a niche Linux installation
• Repackage and build FOSS from source to run in niche situations
• Roll my own documentation generator for a closed-source application, a la Swagger
• Give design and implementation notes on websites
• Give copy notes on a client proposal
